This creative nonfiction piece was written in ENGL 1000, Intro to Creative Writing. It is based on the Omaha Race Riot of 1919 and served as the jumping point for the revision done in WRIT 3500, Writing Design and Circulation.
This editorial was done in WRIT 3500, Writing Design and Circulation. It is a revision/expansion of the creative nonfiction piece done a year prior. As an op/ed, its goal was to inform the audience of racism in America and incite them to make a difference by appealing to them rhetorically.
This is the final revision of "November 5th, 1919." It includes changes to the op/ed regarding better rhetorical appeal, specifically regarding a paragraph on President Trump, and also addresses minor editing errors.
