About Me
Hello! My name is Hannah Burbach and I am a fourth year at the University of Denver. I'm pursuing a major in Biological Sciences with minors in Chemistry, Spanish, and, of course, Writing. I'm originally from Omaha, Nebraska, but now I live in Denver full time.

Writing has always been a passion of mine, born from years of reading fantasy and fiction and avoiding social interaction at all costs. I decided to pursue a Writing minor with caution - writing is a means of escape for me and I was hesitant to turn it into schoolwork. It all worked out, though, as I love writing more than ever, and my skills have improved immensely!

This portfolio demonstrates everything I have accomplished in the writing world over the past three years. I hope that you enjoy it, and you get to know a little about me through the best way of communicating: words.

This section contains selected works from the classes that fall under Applied Writing for the minor. The Applied Writing category encompasses courses that build upon the fundamentals of writing, covering a wide ground of genres. The works chosen from this section represent the application of techniques and genre in writing, specializing in creative fiction and nonfiction in my case.
This section contains work from Theory, Research, and History of Writing. This category of the minor focuses on courses that think meta-rhetorically and theoretically about writing in a variety of fields, such as communications and journalism. The works selected for this category demonstrate the best analyses and applications of the theory learned in Style and Rhetorical Grammar.
This section is somewhat miscellaneous, containing pieces from several different courses. It contains a lab report, a research paper, and an editorial, among other things. In short, it serves to show the variety of writing genres and ecosystems that I have covered while at the University of Denver.
